The UAE is expected to see temperatures drop as low as 20°C in some mountainous regions, with rainfall forecasted over eastern and southern parts of the country today. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), these showers are due to convective cloud formation, which has brought varying levels of rainfall across the country in recent days, particularly in northern and southern emirates.
The weather bureau had earlier warned of heavy rain and thunderstorms caused by surface low pressure, which is expected to last until today.
Wednesday’s overall weather will be fair to partly cloudy, with humidity rising by night and into Thursday morning, creating a chance of mist in some coastal and inland areas. Light to moderate winds are expected, occasionally strengthening, and seas will be generally calm to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
While temperatures may drop to 20°C in mountainous regions, they could still climb as high as 41°C in internal areas, with coastal humidity levels reaching up to 90%.
