Residents of Abu Dhabi have been advised to prepare for varying levels of rainfall from Monday, October 7, to Wednesday, October 9, according to an announcement from the Abu Dhabi Media Office. Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution as weather conditions fluctuate in the coming days.
The National Centre of Meteorology reported that the rain will be caused by surface low pressure combined with a relatively cold air mass in the upper levels of the atmosphere. Some areas of the UAE have already experienced moderate to heavy rain on Sunday, October 6, including hail in the Murbad and Maidaq areas of Fujairah.
In Abu Dhabi, light to moderate rain is expected, especially in the interior and Al Ain areas, with fresh to strong winds likely to accompany the showers. Al Dhafra is also expected to experience similar weather.
Authorities have issued warnings for residents to adjust their speed while driving, avoid flood-prone valleys, and carry first-aid kits and alternative light sources to stay prepared for any emergencies.
