Dubai princess launches AED1,000 perfume ‘Divorce’ after announcing split on Instagram

Princess Shaikha Mahra Mohammed Rashed Al Maktoum, who gained attention earlier this year for announcing her divorce on Instagram, has introduced a new perfume called “Divorce.” The fragrance, priced at AED 1,000, is described on her official brand’s website as symbolizing “confidence and new beginnings” and is aimed at those who appreciate “elegance and change.”

In addition to the perfume, the princess also unveiled a hair and body spray priced at AED 604, offering a “light, invigorating scent.” Another product, a glitter powder priced at AED 716, promises a “radiant, shine-enhanced finish” for the skin.

This launch follows her viral Instagram post from July 17, where she declared her divorce from her husband, saying, “Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you.” The princess’s statement seemingly referenced triple talaq, a centuries-old Islamic divorce practice, which has been banned in several countries, including Bangladesh, Egypt, and Pakistan.
