Hip-hop, jazz, and Arabic pop to shine at The Fridge as concert series returns for 44th season

The Fridge announces the return of Concert Series for its 44th season, starting October 1, 2024. This four-week series will showcase a range of musical genres, highlighting original music by some of the best UAE-based talents, at The Fridge Warehouse in Alserkal Avenue.

The Fridge’s Concert Series, where original music lives, features performances on the first four Tuesdays in October. The Season, sponsored by Lee Cooper at Shoemart, boasts a lineup spanning hip-hop, jazz, electronic, dream pop, urban soul, and Arabic pop, offering a snapshot of the UAE’s evolving music scene. Concert Series is always carefully curated to reflect the city’s diverse musical tastes, with a particular growing demand for different jazz and soul styles in the local music scene.

Here’s a breakdown of the performances and exciting lineup:

October 1: Drumming virtuoso David Sagamon opens the series with a hip-hop and jazz show, joined on stage by star musicians from the American, African, Armenian, and Russian music scenes.

October 8: Electronic music is at the forefront with supporting artist Serge Volant’s modular synth performance, followed by headlining dream pop duo WYWY. MemoryAll on visuals takes over, with an immersive audio-visual experience debuting their latest album.

October 15: Jazz and urban soul experience with internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter and producer Chinua Hawk, who has shared the stage with Celine Dion and featured on the Kanye West-produced Talib Kweli track ‘Get By’.

October 22: Closing the season is Khaleeji sensation MOLHAM with his Arabic Pop, supported by bi-lingual singer Habiba.

“The 44th season of The Fridge Concert Series showcases Dubai’s musical diversity,” says Shelley Frost, Founder and Director of The Fridge, who established the iconic platform 17 years ago. “Each performance offers a chance to experience a different genre and discover original talent. We’re particularly excited to see the growing interest in jazz and soul music in Dubai, which reflects the city’s evolving and eclectic musical tastes.”

Doors open at 7:30 p.m., with performances beginning at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are priced at AED 60 for students, AED 70 for general admission, and AED 80 at the door.
