Dubai Police addressed 78 maritime collisions and managed 10 rescue operations in the first six months of 2024, according to authorities. Brigadier Dr. Hassan Suhail Al Suwaidi, director of the Ports Police Station, stated that the department also recorded 272 maritime-related violations during this period.
He highlighted on a Khaleej Times report the advanced capabilities of Dubai Police’s marine rescue teams, who are equipped with cutting-edge technology, fast boats, and GPS systems, making them among the most skilled in the region.
Col. Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi, deputy director of the Ports Police Station, emphasized the team’s quick and efficient response in saving lives and providing critical assistance.
Additionally, 12 field inspections by the Facilities Security Section identified seven areas for improvement. Dubai Police continues to prioritize maritime safety through over 550 lectures and workshops, enhancing navigation practices in line with UAE maritime laws.
