Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has initiated the first phase of electric buses, marking a significant step toward promoting green public transportation. Ten buses will operate across three intercity routes, contributing to the emirate’s broader goal of supporting the Climate Neutrality 2050 initiative and enhancing environmental sustainability.
This move follows Abu Dhabi’s recent introduction of hydrogen and electric-powered buses on September 12. These eco-friendly buses, operating on Route 65, are designed to reduce harmful emissions, aligning with the UAE’s commitment to reducing carbon footprints.
