A heartwarming reunion unfolded when an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) surprised his parents in their sleep after being apart for years. Jholee Barres, the OFW in question, carefully slipped into bed between his sleeping parents, as captured in a viral video shared by the program “Dapat Alam Mo!”
Startled by the sudden presence, his parents quickly realized it was their son, sparking smiles and an emotional embrace. This moment was particularly special for Barres, who hadn’t seen his parents since 2020 when he left for Taiwan to work.
The years apart were especially tough for Barres, as his mother had been frequently hospitalized during his time abroad. Although he wanted to return home to care for her, circumstances prevented it. Finally, when he was able to visit, he decided to surprise his parents, a gesture that resulted in overwhelming joy and touching reactions.
