Sharjah Municipality announced that public parking will be free on Sunday, July 15, in celebration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad. However, this exemption does not apply to the seven-day paid parking zones, which remain operational throughout the week, including official holidays. These zones are marked by blue parking signs to indicate their status.
The Prophet’s birthday is observed on 12 Rabi’ Al-Awwal 1444, the third month of the Islamic calendar, and is recognized across many Islamic countries, including the Gulf region.
Following this holiday, UAE residents can look forward to a long weekend in December for National Day, with a four-day break from December 2 to 3.
Additionally, as of September 2, Sharjah Municipality implemented paid parking in the Muwaileh commercial area during holidays to manage parking demand in the bustling district.
