Bahrain to introduce 15% minimum tax on large multinationals in 2025

Starting January 1, Bahrain will implement a 15% domestic minimum tax for large multinational corporations operating in the country. The tax will apply to companies with global revenues exceeding 750 million euros (around $829 million) and is in line with guidelines set by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

This move ensures that these multinationals pay at least 15% tax on profits earned within Bahrain. The decision follows Bahrain’s participation in the OECD’s inclusive framework since 2018, which supports a global minimum corporate tax rate. The Bahrain News Agency stated that this initiative reflects the country’s commitment to aligning with international tax standards and ensuring fair taxation of multinational enterprises.
