Senator Risa Hontiveros has criticized former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo for being able to leave the Philippines while under investigation in connection with POGO operations. Hontiveros expressed her frustration on Tuesday, stating, “To Alice Guo’s camp, all I can say is, don’t act as if you have VIP access to immigration.”
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission revealed that Guo departed the Philippines, as confirmed by immigration records from foreign authorities. She arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from Denpasar, Indonesia, on July 18, 2024. The Bureau of Immigration also confirmed that Guo is now in Indonesia, having flown from Singapore on August 18, 2024.
Hontiveros further emphasized the difficulties faced by ordinary Filipinos at immigration checkpoints, contrasting their experiences with Guo’s ability to leave the country amid the ongoing investigation.
