Philippine Embassy in Bahrain celebrates ‘Buwan ng Wika 2023’ with vibrant cultural display

The Philippine Embassy, in partnership with the WIKA Toastmasters Club Bahrain, recently held a grand celebration of “Buwan ng Wika 2023” in Bahrain. The event aimed to spotlight the rich cultural diversity and linguistic heritage of the Filipino diaspora.

Themed “Filipino at mga katutubong Wika: Wika ng Kapayapaan, Seguridad, at Inklusibong Pagpapatupad ng Katarungang Panlipunan”, the celebration saw a robust participation from the community. The festivities ranged from poem writing to spoken word poetry contests, each reflecting the unity, creativity, and vibrant culture of Filipinos in Bahrain.

The Poem Writing contest attracted 20 diverse and remarkable entries. An esteemed panel of judges, prominent figures within the Bahraini-Filipino community, had the task of assessing each entry in person. Winners were recognized during the event, with the official tabulation confirmed by Ms. Flora Medallion.
