New Salik gates spotted at Business Bay and Al Safa, operational by November

Dubai motorists have spotted two new Salik toll gates that are set to be operational by the end of November, Khaleej Times reported. These new gates will bring the total number of Salik toll points in Dubai to 10.

The new gates are located at Business Bay Crossing on Al Khail Road and Al Safa South on Sheikh Zayed Road, between Al Meydan Street and Umm Al Sheif Street. The Salik Company PJSC, which operates Dubai’s toll system, confirmed the locations in its half-year financial report.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) stated earlier this year that these locations were selected based on thorough traffic studies aimed at reducing congestion on key routes. The Business Bay Crossing gate is expected to alleviate traffic on Al Khail Road by 15% and cut travel time by 20,000 hours daily on its most congested segment.

Meanwhile, the Al Safa South gate is projected to decrease traffic volumes on Sheikh Zayed Road by 4% and optimize the use of nearby streets. These measures are part of a broader effort to enhance traffic flow throughout Dubai.

Currently, Dubai has eight operational Salik gates, with each passage incurring a fee of Dh4, automatically deducted from the motorist’s prepaid toll account. The introduction of the new gates aims to distribute traffic more evenly and improve overall travel efficiency in the city.
