Raymond Fortun, the legal representative of Mrs. Angelica Poquiz Yulo, has released an official statement addressing recent allegations against her and her family. The statement aims to clarify the situation and defend Mrs. Yulo from the baseless accusations circulating online.
“I have been asked by Mrs. Angelica Poquiz Yulo to speak on her behalf,” Fortun began. He emphasized that all statements attributed to Mrs. Yulo and her children that criticize or tarnish the accomplishments of her son, Carlos Edriel Yulo, are “untrue, fake, and mere products of imagination and fantasy by heretofore unknown individuals.”
Mrs. Yulo plans to seek assistance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to identify the individuals responsible for these false statements and will file appropriate charges against them for violating the Anti-Cybercrime Law (RA 10175).
Fortun also reminded the public of the legal consequences of sharing these fake posts and making harsh or libelous comments. “The public is hereby reminded that the sharing of these fake posts, as well as harsh and libelous comments made in said posts, are also actionable under the Anti-Cybercrime Law. It is advisable that the public DELETE their comments to avoid prosecution,” he stated.
Mrs. Yulo confirmed that she had given two interviews to mainstream media. However, she expressed regret that only her comments regarding Carlos Yulo’s relationship with Ms. San Juan were uploaded, overshadowing other aspects of her statements.
Despite the controversy, Mrs. Yulo and her family assure the public that they share in the nation’s pride and joy over Carlos Edriel Yulo’s achievements. She conveyed her sentiments by stating, “GOOD FOR HIM KASI ETO NA UNG PINAPANGARAP NYA AT ETO NA UNG PINAKAHIHINTAY NYA AT NAG PAID OFF LAHAT NG PAGHIHIRAP NYA” (This is his dream come true, and all his hard work has paid off).
