Expect rainfall in UAE: Forecast predicts wet weather through August 8

Amid the scorching summer heat, residents in parts of the UAE can look forward to a refreshing change with expected rainfall over the next few days. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecasted a series of showers that could bring much-needed relief from Monday, August 5, to Thursday, August 8.

Weather patterns are predicted to shift to partly cloudy and cloudy across most regions, with the eastern and southern areas likely to experience rainfall. This change is attributed to the movement of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) towards the UAE from the south, coupled with upper-level pressure systems arriving from the east, which are driving cloud formations into the region.

Winds will range from light to moderate, occasionally becoming fresh and varying from southeast to northeast, then shifting to northwesterly. These conditions could lead to convective clouds that might stir up dust and sand, potentially reducing visibility.

The sea conditions will be relatively mild with light to moderate waves in the Arabian Gulf, though the Oman Sea is expected to see rougher waves on Tuesday.

The NCM is closely monitoring the weather and will provide continuous updates. Recent days have already seen light rains and drizzles in some parts, with the current forecast indicating partly cloudy to cloudy skies that may become dusty.

Temperatures will vary significantly, with lows of 25°C in mountainous regions and highs reaching 45°C in internal areas. Humidity is expected to drop to 15% in the mountains while spiking up to 80% in coastal areas and islands.
