The Ajman Transport Authority has announced new taxi fare rates set to take effect on August 1, 2024. The updated fare is Dh1.83 per kilometre, a slight increase from last month’s rate of Dh1.82 per kilometre, reports Khaleej Times. This adjustment coincides with the UAE’s recent fuel price hike, as the UAE Fuel Price Committee increased rates by up to 6 fils per litre for August.
From August 1, Super 98 petrol will cost Dh3.05 per litre, up from Dh2.99 in July. Special 95 petrol will be priced at Dh2.93 per litre, compared to the previous Dh2.88, while E-Plus 91 petrol will rise to Dh2.86 per litre from Dh2.80. Diesel will also see an increase to Dh2.95 per litre from Dh2.89.
In the first half of 2024, Ajman Transport Authority reported a 21% increase in environmentally friendly vehicles in its taxi and limousine fleet, bringing the total to 2,231 eco-friendly vehicles. This expansion aligns with the growing demand for sustainable travel options.
The number of taxi users in Ajman reached 12,803,216 in the first half of 2024, with 6,401,608 trips made, marking a 23% increase from the same period in 2023. The authority continues to enhance its services to meet the needs of its passengers while promoting environmental sustainability.
