Etihad Airways will begin daily flights between Boston and Abu Dhabi starting 27 October. This decision follows the airline’s introduction of Boston as its fourth U.S. destination, alongside Chicago, New York, and Washington DC, just three months ago.
Travelers flying from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport will benefit from the airport’s exclusive U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility in the Middle East, allowing them to clear U.S. immigration and customs checks before departure. This service enables passengers to pick up their bags and exit the airport quickly upon arrival in the U.S.
In addition to the increased flight frequency from Boston, Etihad will also launch daily flights to Toronto Pearson Airport in Canada using the Airbus A350, known for its efficiency and reduced fuel burn and CO2 emissions. This aircraft will operate daily beginning 27 October.
“The Airbus A350 is setting new standards for air travel, with increased efficiencies and comfort. The introduction of the A350 to Toronto aligns with our strategy to meet increasing customer demand and expand our network,” Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad, said in a Khaleej Times report.
The Boston to Abu Dhabi flights will be operated using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring Business Studios and Economy Smart seats. Since the inaugural flight in March, the Boston service has seen near-capacity flights, prompting the airline to expand its frequency to meet the high demand.
“Our Boston service continues to perform strongly, with our flights near capacity since our inaugural flight in Boston this March,” said Arik De. “Having already experienced record passenger demand, we’re excited to invest further in the North American market by expanding our flight frequency out of Boston ahead of the peak winter travel season.”
Etihad’s partnership with JetBlue further enhances the travel experience, offering passengers convenient connections to numerous cities across North America.
