UAE expat saves AED100 monthly, wins AED1 million in UAE draw

A 46-year-old electrician originally from India has won Dh1 million in a recent National Bonds draw, attributing his financial windfall to diligent savings and a dedication to his family’s future.

According to Khaleej Times, Nagendram Borugadda moved to the UAE in 2017 with hopes of providing better opportunities for his family. As a father of an 18-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old son, he has consistently saved money since 2019, setting aside Dh100 each month through a direct debit arrangement with National Bonds.

“This win feels surreal,” Borugadda expressed. “I came to the UAE to build a better life for my family and provide a good education for my children. National Bonds has given me a chance to finally secure their future and fulfill my long-held aspirations for their education.”

Borugadda’s story is a striking example of how regular saving can sometimes lead to life-changing opportunities. Alongside him, Abdulla Ali, an Emirati, also secured the Dh1 million grand prize in the draw held in April 2024.
