Dubai Crocodile Park has announced free entry for children aged up to 11 years during the summer break in July and August.
“Dubai Crocodile Park is passionate about inspiring the young minds of Dubai and is offering free admission to children during the July and August holidays,” the park said in a statement on Monday.
Typically, tickets to Dubai Crocodile Park cost Dh95 for adults and Dh75 for children throughout the year, with children aged up to 3 years enjoying free admission year-round.
Crocodiles, some of the oldest creatures on Earth, are crucial in maintaining ecological balance within their habitats. They currently face threats such as poaching, habitat loss, and climate change, with some species at risk of extinction without significant conservation efforts.
In May, Dubai Crocodile Park began its annual nesting season, where female Nile Crocodiles lay eggs in designated areas. Park experts collect and examine the eggs, noting parameters like temperature, size, and shell quality, aiding in conservation and providing insights into the crocodile population’s health.
After hatching, mother crocodiles carry their offspring to the water, significantly boosting their survival chances. However, only 1 percent of wild hatchlings typically reach adulthood due to predation and other challenges.
