Department of Migrant Workers commits support to OFWs on Independence Day

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) extends heartfelt Independence Day greetings to all overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in honor of the 126th anniversary of Philippine independence. Hans Leo J. Cacdac, representing the department, acknowledged the dedication and hard work of OFWs, likening them to modern-day heroes who carry on the legacy of patriotism.

“We celebrate the bravery and sacrifices of our countrymen and countrywomen who fought for our freedom. Their heroic acts serve as a constant reminder of the patriotism that resides within every one of us,” Cacdac stated.

Cacdac praised OFWs for their resilience in navigating new cultures and overcoming challenges abroad. He emphasized their significant contributions to both their host countries’ economies and the upliftment of their families back home, showcasing Philippine excellence globally.

“We at the Department of Migrant Workers recognize the immense sacrifices you make. We commit to providing you with the protection, support, and services you deserve. We strive to ensure your well-being, protect your rights, and empower you to reach your full potential as equal partners in national economic development,” he affirmed.

Reflecting on the vision for a more prosperous Philippines, Cacdac highlighted the importance of unity and inclusivity in nation-building. He envisioned a future where every Filipino worker abroad feels safe, empowered, and valued, contributing to the country’s growth.

“Saan mang lugar kayo sa mundo, iisa ang pintig at tibok ng ating mga puso – ang pagmamahal sa ating Inang Bayang Pilipinas. Ang inyong mga sakripisyo, pagsisikap, at pagpupunyagi ang nagsisilbing inspirasyon ng ating sambayanan tungo sa isang masagana, mapayapa at malayang Bagong Pilipinas,” Cacdac expressed.

Cacdac concluded by saluting the OFWs for their courage and resilience, ensuring them that the DMW stands ready to support and protect their interests. He wished them a joyful and meaningful Independence Day celebration, recognizing their vital role in shaping a brighter future for the Philippines.

“Maraming salamat at Mabuhay po kayong lahat!” Cacdac ended.
