An Indian man has married his mother-in-law following the death of his wife, according to a report by The Times of India. After his wife’s death, Sikandar Yadav moved in with his in-laws, Dileshwar Darve and Geeta Devi, to help raise his two children. Over time, Yadav and Devi developed romantic feelings for each other.
Their relationship remained a secret until it was discovered by Darve, who reported the matter to the local village council, or panchayat. Instead of denying the affair, Yadav openly declared his love for Devi in front of the council and the villagers.
The situation concluded with Darve and the panchayat agreeing to allow Yadav and Devi to legalize their relationship through a court marriage. Darve even assisted in making the arrangements for the wedding, demonstrating a surprising level of acceptance given the circumstances.
