Government civilian employees, including military and uniformed personnel, will begin receiving their midyear bonuses starting May 15, 2024, according to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM). DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman has directed all agencies to expedite the release of these bonuses for qualified employees, encompassing regular, casual, and contractual staff.
To be eligible for the bonus, government workers must be employed as of May 15 and have obtained at least a satisfactory performance rating in the latest assessment period. The bonus amount is equivalent to one month’s basic salary and is available to those who have served at least four months from July 1, 2023, to May 15, 2024.
The DBM has also noted that the funding for these bonuses was allocated to the respective agencies at the beginning of the fiscal year. Local government units will determine the specific allocations for personnel in provinces, cities, municipalities, and barangays, adhering to set policy conditions.
