The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has freed 200 financially distressed inmates from rehabilitation and correctional centers after generous donations settled their debts. Donors stepped up to clear amounts owed by nationals and residents, showcasing community solidarity.
In a statement on their official Instagram, ADJD undersecretary Counselor Yousef Saeed Alabri reiterated the department’s dedication to fostering community initiatives benefiting inmates and their families. Alabri highlighted the UAE’s tradition of philanthropy, prioritizing human rights.
Alabri commended the donors’ impactful contributions, pivotal in releasing insolvent inmates during Ramadan, allowing them to reunite with families for Eid Al Fitr. He cited collaborative efforts between authorities and community members in supporting financially troubled detainees.
These initiatives, Alabri stressed, alleviate the hardships faced by the insolvent, providing both material and moral support to enhance their quality of life. By satisfying creditors’ rights, the measures facilitate inmates’ return to normalcy with their families.
