‘I can say I’m healed’: Kathryn Bernardo opens up about moving on after split with Daniel Padilla

Kathryn Bernardo, the cover girl of the the April Mega issue, candidly shared her journey of moving on after her split with long-time beau Daniel Padilla. The actress, who confirmed their breakup in November 2023, revealed her current state of healing and reflection.

“Now, where I am is exactly where I’m supposed to be. February for me is the new January. Parang ’yon ’yong tapos na (That’s when it was done). I know that I’m okay. I can say I’m healed,” Kathryn shared in the interview, shedding light on her emotional progress.

Reflecting on the challenges of balancing her career amidst personal turmoil, Kathryn emphasized her commitment to maintaining professionalism. “You have to experience all the process, all the pain, lahat (everything). But I always make sure that when it comes to my work, nothing is affected,” she affirmed.

Amidst rumors and speculation, Kathryn clarified that she didn’t want to be perceived as a “victim” and highlighted her focus on receiving blessings, cherishing supportive relationships, and keeping herself occupied as part of her healing process.

Moreover, Kathryn addressed the significance of setting boundaries for her peace of mind. “When I forgive you, it doesn’t mean that I have to keep you in my life. I forgive you for my peace of mind, for clarity, and for everything. But it doesn’t mean na puwede kang bumalik (that you can come back),” she explained, indicating her stance on forgiveness and closure.

The actress also acknowledged the journey of her relationship with Daniel, emphasizing that it began and ended with respect. However, recent actions, such as unfollowing Daniel on Instagram in January 2024, have fueled speculation about the status of their post-breakup dynamic.
