A new chapter of humanitarian aid unfolds as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) welcomed its 14th group of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients on Wednesday. The initiative, directed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aims to provide medical treatment for 1,000 wounded children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip in UAE hospitals.
The group, consisting of 32 Palestinians accompanied by 64 family members, arrived at Abu Dhabi International Airport after departing from Al Arish International Airport. Expressing profound gratitude, the families hailed the UAE’s significant humanitarian assistance, which seeks to alleviate the plight of the Palestinian people.
Upon arrival, medical teams swiftly transported the patients to hospitals for immediate care, while their companions were accommodated at the Emirates Humanitarian City.
Since the onset of the crisis, the UAE has remained a steadfast supporter of Gaza, launching “Operation Gallant Knight 3” in November 2023 to provide humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people. The country’s efforts include establishing a 150-bed field hospital in Gaza and a Floating Hospital in Al Arish port, along with launching six desalination plants in Rafah, Egypt, to address water infrastructure challenges in Gaza.
Furthermore, the UAE’s ‘Tarahum — for Gaza’ campaign has been instrumental in providing relief aid to vulnerable groups, exemplifying the nation’s dedication to supporting the Palestinian people and fostering solidarity through impactful humanitarian efforts.
