Dubai Police hands out more than 70,000 iftar meals to drivers in first week of Ramadan

Dubai Police has distributed a total of 71,850 fast-breaking or iftar meals to car drivers in the first week of the holy month. The initiative, known as “Ramadan Without Accidents,” aims to curb traffic accidents before iftar time, a period often marked by hurried driving behaviors.

Authorities strategically selected intersections with high traffic density to distribute iftar meals, reaching approximately 71,850 individuals in the initial week alone. With an average of 10,000 meals distributed daily, traffic officers and volunteers have been instrumental in the campaign’s success.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, underscored the collaborative effort involved in this initiative. Partnering with various organizations such as the Department of Traffic Awareness, Al Khawaneej Police Station, and Emirates Red Crescent, among others, reflects a concerted approach toward promoting road safety during Ramadan.
