Sixty-four overseas Filipino workers and other qualified recipients each walked away with financial aid ranging from P50,000 to P75,000 on August 8, 2026, as the Department of Migrant Workers-National Capital Region (DMW-NCR) handed out a combined P3.3 million in AKSYON Fund assistance at the agency’s central office here. The amount received depended on each beneficiary’s qualifying category and specific needs.
Regional Director Atty. Ace Falconi V. Millar led the distribution, which covered distressed and repatriated workers along with members of their families. He told recipients the agency’s role would not stop at the cash grant, offering to connect them with other government offices for whatever else they might require.
“Hindi po nagtatapos dito ang ating ugnayan, kung ano pa ang maipaglilingkod namin sa inyo at kung mayroon pa kayong kailangan sa ibang ahensya ay bukas ang aming tanggapan — DSWD, TESDA, DTI, LGU ay lahat po ng pangangailangan ninyo ay maaari namin kayong i-endorso sa mga ahensya na kailangan ninyong puntahan,” Millar said.
Beneficiaries who need further support may approach DMW-NCR to be endorsed, when necessary, to the DSWD, TESDA, DTI, local government units, or other relevant agencies.
The AKSYON Fund operates under the UPLIFT Program of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., a scheme built around helping distressed and other qualified OFWs as they return home. Recipients can put the money toward urgent expenses or toward rebuilding their livelihoods once back in the country.
