4 Saturdays, 30 hours: New Dubai camp helps teachers and parents support children with special needs

For educators, therapists, and parents who support children with special educational needs, theory only goes so far. Real confidence is built in the room, working through the challenges as they happen. That is the idea behind ABLE UK’s new Hands-On 30-Hour Multidisciplinary Special Educators Camp, launching this September in Dubai Healthcare City.

Founded in 2014 and operating out of Dubai Healthcare City since January 2015, ABLE UK (Advanced Behavioural Learning Environment) has spent more than a decade bringing UK best practices in pediatric therapy and special education to families across the UAE. The DHA- and DHCC-licensed provider works with children facing a wide range of developmental needs, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, speech and language delays, and sensory processing difficulties. This new training camp extends that clinical expertise to the professionals and caregivers who work with these children every day.

A Powerful Blend of Practice and Expertise

The camp runs across four Saturdays, starting September 12, 2025, from 9:00 AM, at ABLE UK’s center on the 2nd Floor of Building 33, DHCC. Rather than lecture-only sessions, the program is built around a “learn by doing” philosophy that combines hands-on training with expert-led instruction.

Over 30 hours, participants will work through the practical realities of the special education classroom, guided by occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and special education specialists.

What the Camp Covers

The curriculum spans identification and management of speech and language difficulties in the classroom, language development, and the natural process of growth and development that helps children thrive in their communities. Participants will also take a certification course on the prerequisites for classroom success and receive dedicated training in Applied Behavior Analysis, both as a discipline and in its practical application within educational settings. A key focus is a comprehensive, compassionate approach to addressing problem behavior, rounded out by direct guidance from OT, speech therapy, and special education experts.

Who Should Attend

The program is designed for a broad community of professionals and caregivers: SENCOs and LSAs, aspiring LSAs, special educators, occupational and speech-language therapists, school leaders, and parents and caregivers who want practical, evidence-based tools they can put to use immediately.

Fees and an Exclusive Offer

The full camp is priced at AED 2,500. As an exclusive benefit, The Global Filipino Magazine subscribers receive a 10% instant discount on registration.
