Reintegration support will follow the twenty overseas Filipino workers who touched down at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on the afternoon of July 29, referrals to regional welfare offices being the mechanism the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration intends to use for their return to life in the Philippines. Financial aid, livelihood help, job placement, and counseling are among the programs those offices will extend as the workers settle back home.
The group flew in from Abu Dhabi aboard Etihad Airways Flight EY440. On the ground, OWWA personnel met them with services meant to ease the transition immediately after landing: assistance at the airport itself, meals, temporary lodging for anyone who required it, and rides onward to their home provinces.
OWWA framed the day’s operation as one link in a longer chain of support that begins with a worker’s safe return and continues through their re-entry into the local workforce. The agency tied its efforts to a standing instruction from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. calling for prompt and thorough assistance for Filipino workers regardless of where they are posted.
