Eldrew and Elaiza Yulo, younger siblings of Olympic gymnast Carlos Yulo, have taken a major step toward their goal of competing in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The two aspiring athletes recently traveled to Japan to join a training camp under the guidance of their brother’s coach, Munehiro Kugimiya.
Their mother, Angelica Yulo, confirmed the development, sharing that Coach Mune secured sponsorship for their training. Eldrew, a multi-medal winner in national events, and Elaiza, who recently claimed five golds at the Palarong Pambansa, are set to enhance their skills under the renowned coach.
Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) president Cynthia Carrion previously hinted at plans for Eldrew to possibly compete alongside Carlos in the 2028 Summer Games, where the latter will defend his two gold medals from Paris.
