Popular YouTuber IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., was left in awe after trying Jollibee fried chicken for the first time while live-streaming from the Philippines. Known for his energetic and over-the-top reactions, the American streamer had a particularly memorable experience tasting the iconic Filipino fast-food chain’s fried chicken.
While touring Southeast Asia and sampling local dishes, IShowSpeed made a stop at Jollibee, which has over 1,500 locations across the Philippines. On September 12, during his live broadcast, he expressed disbelief at how good the fried chicken tasted, comparing it to KFC, a fast-food staple in the U.S.
“Everybody in the Philippines says that this is better than KFC. So, let’s check it out,” he said before taking his first bite.
His reaction was instant and filled with excitement. After just a couple of bites, IShowSpeed, clearly impressed, exclaimed, “What the fk! Hold on. What the fk? Why this tastes so good? Why this sht so good? What the f*k is Jollibee?”
As he continued eating, his enthusiasm escalated. The YouTuber even asked one of the staff members to kiss the chicken before he tried it, much to the amusement of other customers in the store. In true IShowSpeed fashion, he climbed onto the counter after tasting the fried chicken and continued to rave about its flavor.
“Why the f**k this fried chicken so good? Goddamn!” he shouted, eliciting cheers from his followers and fans watching the stream.
IShowSpeed was curious about the secret behind the chicken’s well-seasoned taste and turned to the staff, asking, “Who seasoned this? Why is this so well-seasoned? What the heck! I thought you all were dragging it. What the f**k Philippines! Who seasoned this? Bring him, bring him.”
