Young voices unite at BurJuman as children’s choir begins journey with ‘Paraiso’

The BurJuman Children’s Choir officially began its musical journey on May 3, 2025, with a powerful first rehearsal at BHUB, 3rd Floor, BurJuman Mall. Comprised of young talents aged 7 to 14, the choir gathered under the skilled guidance of Mr. Elipas Sibua, a distinguished vocal coach, Sunmarke School music teacher, UAE WCOPA National Director, and founder of Off-Broadway UAE. Sibua is also a 2023 Global Icon Award recipient, further emphasizing the choir’s commitment to excellence.

During their first session, the young choristers performed “Paraiso” by Smokey Mountain, a piece that brought together their diverse voices, reflecting a blend of cultures from South Africa, India, Canada, the Philippines, America, Germany, and Indonesia. The emotional impact was immediate. “The harmony of the children’s voices was so beautiful—it gave us goosebumps,” one parent shared, moved by the performance.

The BurJuman Children’s Choir is not just about vocal training; it is a celebration of unity through music. With young voices from around the world singing in perfect harmony, it has become a promising addition to the UAE’s vibrant performing arts scene. Audiences can look forward to their upcoming performances, which are sure to captivate and inspire.
