A 20-year-old Indian woman and her infant daughter were found dead in what authorities suspect is a heartbreaking case of murder-suicide at a residential apartment on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a Gulf News report, the woman is believed to have killed her one-year-and-four-month-old child before taking her own life. Medical personnel who responded to the scene confirmed visible signs on the woman’s neck that strongly indicate suicide. The child was also pronounced dead at the location.
Emergency services rushed to the apartment after receiving a distress call. The woman’s body was taken to the hospital at around 2 p.m. before being moved to the forensic laboratory for a detailed autopsy.
Al Buhairah Police Station has launched a full investigation to uncover the motive behind the tragedy. Authorities have not yet released further details, but stressed that the case remains under active inquiry.
