Four Emirati children were honored for their efforts in cleaning up the streets of Dubai following the prestigious Dubai Marathon.
On Ethiopia’s Christmas Day, the marathon concluded with Addisu Gobena and Tigist Ketema claiming the elite titles. Shortly after, Mohammed Thani Al Shafar, Ghubash Marwan bin Ghubash, Rashid Saeed Al Marri, and Khalifa Saeed Al Marri took it upon themselves to restore the city’s cleanliness. Their dedication to bringing the city back to its pristine condition was an inspiring sight.
This act of community service did not go unnoticed. On Wednesday, the Dubai Municipality recognized the children’s efforts. Dawoud Al Hajri, the Director-General of Dubai Municipality, personally honored the young environmentalists for their commendable work.
Their story gained further attention when Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, shared an Instagram story on Tuesday featuring the children tidying up a street. The Crown Prince expressed his gratitude and praised the children for their valuable contribution to the community.
