An eight-year-old Egyptian girl has been recognized by Dubai Police for her outstanding honesty after returning Dh17,000 in cash she found at a cinema in a mall.
Lily Jamal Ramadan discovered the money while waiting on a bench for her parents to buy movie tickets. She immediately told her parents about the cash, prompting her father to take the family straight to Al Rashidiya Police Station to hand it over.
In a remarkable twist, the person who lost the money was already at the station filing a report—only to be reunited with the full amount thanks to Lily’s act of integrity.
Dubai Police honoured Lily in a formal ceremony led by Major General Expert Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansoori, who commended her honesty and emphasized the importance of teaching ethical values to the youth.
The recognition of Lily is part of the Dubai Police’s broader efforts to celebrate residents who demonstrate commendable behavior. In recent months, several individuals, including citizens, residents, and tourists, have been acknowledged for returning lost items ranging from cash and passports to valuable jewelry.
