Many young people dream of making a difference, but few begin so early with such conviction. At just 12 years old, Sarah Elie Alcala Antoun, a student at The Philippine School Dubai and the Grand Winner of Miss Junior Philippines UAE, is already shaping her vision of the world she wants to help create.
Speaking up for those without a voice
Living in Dubai with her parents, Sarah has grown up surrounded by opportunities, but her heart beats strongly for those who cannot say the same. “One of my goals in life is to speak up for all oppressed, marginalized, those who are struggling, and those who are victims to war,” she said. She hopes to use her platform to build a community for the lost, the silenced, and those denied the liberty to dream freely. For her, equality and justice are not abstract ideas but urgent calls. “As in life we are all humans no matter what is our status, we should be able to have equal opportunities,” she emphasized.
Finding strength in resilience and faith
Despite her young age, Sarah understands the importance of inner strength. “My advice is to stay determined and resilient, trust God as you venture through your journey no matter how difficult the path may be—don’t give up,” she shared. It is this mindset that fuels her passion to encourage others, especially young people, to embrace their imperfections and love themselves.
Grateful for community and opportunity
Her journey also reflects gratitude for the environment that has nurtured her growth. “Being able to work in a sovereign full of beautiful heritage and culture is something I am very grateful of,” she said, adding that meeting diverse groups in Dubai has taught her the importance of unity and prosperity.
For Sarah, carrying the Miss Junior Philippines UAE crown is more than just a title—it is an opportunity to empower, inspire, and remind others that even at a young age, one voice can spark hope.
