Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island continues to cement its standing as a global destination for immersive entertainment, with a major wizarding expansion now confirmed at Warner Bros. World. Official construction permits issued by the government reveal plans for a dedicated Harry Potter land that will include a ride, a Forbidden Forest zone complete with giant Acromantula spiders and towering trees, as well as full recreations of Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley.
The project marks a notable departure from the existing landscape of Potter-themed attractions worldwide. While six other parks across the globe already feature experiences tied to the franchise, all of them operate under the Universal brand — making this the first time a Harry Potter environment will appear outside that network.
Work on the site is already in progress at what has been the world’s largest indoor theme park since it opened in 2018. Once completed, the new land is expected to expand the park’s total area by roughly 26 percent.
The addition also breaks new ground for the franchise itself: no existing park anywhere in the world places both Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley together within a single location. Yas Island drew further attention last year when Disney selected it for the company’s seventh international resort.
