Wynn Al Marjan Island: All you need to know about the UAE’s first casino

The UAE is gearing up to launch its first casino, Wynn Al Marjan Island, as part of its new initiative to establish a body for commercial gaming regulations.

Location:

For those new to the region, Wynn Al Marjan Island is located on Al Marjan Island, situated at the Ajman/Sharjah end of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK). This puts it approximately an hour from Downtown Dubai. The site comprises four separate man-made islands, boasting 2.7 million sqm of reclaimed sand. This marks Wynn Resorts’ debut into beachfront properties.

Opening Date:

Initially revealed in January 2022, this Wynn establishment is set to open its doors in early 2027 as the company’s premiere Middle Eastern property. As cited in the Wynn Resorts Second Quarter 2023 Report, the CEO, Craig Billings, stated construction was well underway and emphasized the project’s anticipated attraction for tourists.

Casino Specs:

Given the CEO’s hints that the casino component could surpass the size of Wynn Las Vegas and the resort’s mentioned features that include a gaming area, it’s clear that the casino will be a major draw.

Size:

This grand venture will feature a tower rising 305 metres above sea level, dwarfing Palm Jumeirah’s Palm Tower which stands at 240 metres. The island resort will provide a lavish experience with 1,500 rooms, suites, and villas.

Budget:

Projected costs for this colossal project sit at USD 3.9 billion or Dhs14.32 billion.

Entertainment:

Visitors can expect a range of entertainment offerings, including unique theatre productions, daily light and laser displays, top-notch spa and wellness amenities, and a variety of luxury shopping opportunities.

Dining:

While specifics are yet to be released regarding dining options, the resort is anticipated to host 24 distinct dining and lounge venues. Keeping in mind Wynn’s global reputation for culinary excellence, it’s plausible that popular restaurants like Mizumi or Wing Lei could make an appearance at this location.

However, these details remain unconfirmed.

All eyes are now on 2027 as we eagerly await the grand unveiling of Wynn Al Marjan Island.
