Dubai’s thriving coffee culture has just brewed up a world record. Roasters, a homegrown specialty coffee brand, has officially claimed the Guinness World Record for “The Most Expensive Coffee Cup in the World,” priced at AED 2,500. The historic event took place on September 13 at the brand’s flagship store on the Boulevard, Downtown Dubai.
“At Roasters, we believe every cup tells a story,” said Konstantin Harbuz, Co-founder and CEO of Roasters. “This recognition celebrates our team’s dedication and reflects Dubai’s growing reputation as a destination for exceptional coffee experiences.”
The record-breaking creation wasn’t just about price—it was a full sensory ritual. Guests witnessed a live table-side preparation by a dedicated barista, who brewed ultra-rare Panama Esmeralda Geisha beans using a V60 dripper and temperature-controlled pour-over kettle. The coffee was elegantly served in a handcrafted Edo Kiriko crystal glass from Japan, known for its intricate artistry.
To complement the brew, guests were treated to desserts infused with Geisha beans, including a refined tiramisu, chocolate ice cream, and a signature chocolate piece designed exclusively for the experience. Flavor note cards guided drinkers through the journey of aromas and tasting layers, making the moment unforgettable.
Founded in Dubai, Roasters has expanded into one of the UAE’s leading specialty coffee chains, now with 11 premium outlets. Known for sourcing rare beans and mastering artisan brewing, the brand continues to redefine coffee appreciation in the region.
