The UAE’s longest mountain trail in Hatta is now open to the public following the completion of construction, Dubai Municipality announced on Thursday. The newly unveiled trails span a total of 53 kilometers with 21 cycling routes and 33 kilometers with 17 walking trails. The project also includes nine wooden bridges, 14 rest stops, and various service facilities.
According to a Khaleej Times report, the trails are divided into four color-coded levels of difficulty: Green, Blue, Red, and Black, catering to different skill levels for both cyclists and walkers. The Green level features four tracks each for cycling and walking, Blue offers six for cycling and three for walking, Red has eight for cycling and six for walking, and Black includes three for cycling and four for walking.
Hatta’s trails traverse diverse terrains, from rocky paths and mountainous regions to rugged peaks and valleys, offering breathtaking views for outdoor enthusiasts. According to Dawoud Al Hajri, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, these trails are designed to host international events and competitions, further enhancing Hatta’s tourism appeal.
The area now boasts improved public amenities, including parking, toilets, bike rental and repair services, and picnic and refueling areas. Al Hajri emphasized that the trails were built with state-of-the-art equipment and materials, ensuring they blend seamlessly with Hatta’s natural landscape, providing a unique experience for all visitors.
