A 25-year-old woman was found deceased and stored in a cooler inside a house in Barangay Hugo Perez, Trece Martires City, Cavite. The body was discovered on Wednesday evening after the suspect’s wife alerted the authorities.
According to the wife, her husband, a 36-year-old jeepney driver, confessed over the phone that he had accidentally killed the victim by strangling her with a rope. To conceal the crime, he placed the victim in a large ice box.
The suspect, according to an ABS-CBN News report, admitted the act to his wife out of guilt but has not surrendered to the police and remains at large.
Cavite police are investigating a financial dispute over an unresolved debt owed by the suspect to the victim as a possible motive. Authorities continued their manhunt for the suspect on Thursday.
