Woman found dead in Las Piñas after suffering 25 stab wounds; husband identified as suspect

A woman was discovered bloodied and unresponsive in a grassy area in Las Piñas around noon on Monday, later confirmed to have suffered 25 stab wounds. She was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

According to a Saksi report, a security guard who witnessed part of the incident reported hearing the victim’s cries for help and immediately alerted the police. He also spotted a man following him but was unable to stop him from fleeing.

During the investigation, a text message saying “Goodbye” appeared on the victim’s phone, leading police to a person of interest. A subsequent call from an online shopping delivery rider helped confirm the victim’s identity as Janilyn Quinto, a Pasay City resident.

The sender of the message was later identified as Quinto’s husband. He was brought to the police station, where the security guard positively identified him as the man at the scene. The suspect refused to give a statement during questioning.

Authorities continue to investigate the case.
