Television host Willie Revillame clarified that if he wins a Senate seat in the May 2025 elections, the public should not expect him to engage in English debates or showcase legal expertise.
Hindi ako magpapagaling dahil hindi ako abogado,” Revillame said during a flag-raising ceremony in Quezon City on Monday.
Instead, he promised to dedicate his work to creating laws that would uplift the lives of the poor.
Revillame shared that in his conversations with Filipinos, poverty and corruption are often mentioned as the country’s main problems. However, he believes helping the poor should take priority.
He also questioned the effectiveness of existing anti-corruption measures, noting that despite numerous cases, no one seems to be held accountable. “Meron na bang nakulong sa korapsyon for how many years?” he asked. “Puro kinasuhan, pinatawag sa Senado. May nakulong ba?”
