Mylah Roque, wife of former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, has been called to appear before a House committee investigating offshore gaming operations, particularly POGOs, due to questions surrounding a significant increase in her company’s assets. The House quad committee, comprising four panels, issued a show cause order on September 20 after Mylah failed to submit documents and attend previous hearings.
Mylah, a shareholder of Biancham Holdings and Trading, is under scrutiny after investigators noted the company’s assets grew from P125,000 in 2014 to P67.7 million by 2018. The committee is also probing her involvement in a lease agreement with Chinese nationals linked to an illegal gaming operator in Tarlac.
In addition, Harry Roque and his former assistant, Alberto Rodulfo Dela Serna, are being investigated for their alleged roles in these operations. Lawmakers suspect Harry’s involvement in illegal POGOs and have cited him in contempt for refusing to attend hearings or submit financial records. Authorities are now seeking to detain him.
