September 22 will officially mark the end of summer in the UAE, with the autumn equinox occurring at 4:44 PM local time. During this event, the Sun will be directly aligned with the equator, resulting in equal daylight for both the northern and southern hemispheres.
From this point onward, cooler weather is expected as nights gradually become longer than days. Temperatures are predicted to drop below 25°C at night and below 40°C during the day, with further cooling anticipated in the coming months. Ibrahim Al Jarwan, chairman of the Emirates Astronomical Society, noted in a Khaleej Times report that night-time temperatures typically fall below 20°C starting mid-October, while daytime temperatures drop below 30°C from mid-November.
The National Center of Meteorology forecasts fair to partly cloudy weather in the upcoming week, with occasional fresh winds and early morning mist or fog. Temperatures may range from 25°C to 46°C in internal areas.
The sighting of the Suhail star on August 24, which signals the transition from summer to winter, also holds cultural significance in the region, though temperatures tend to gradually change over the next 100 days.
