A heartfelt Thanksgiving Dinner was held on 3 August 2025 at the residence of Dinah Sta. Ana in Jidhafs, Kingdom of Bahrain, in honor of Her Excellency Anne Jalando-on Louis, Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain, as she concludes her tour of duty.
Ambassador Louis has been a steadfast source of support and inspiration, particularly to PINAY Ikaw Na (PIN) and countless Filipino women in the kingdom whose lives she has helped uplift and empower.
Ms. Sta. Ana, President of PIN, expressed gratitude, saying, “Ambassador Louis has always been more than a diplomat—she has been a friend, a mentor, and a champion for every Filipina in Bahrain. Her leadership and compassion created safe spaces for women to grow, thrive, and be empowered.”

Ambassador Louis, along with her husband Dr. Gerard Joseph Louis, expressed their gratitude during the Thanksgiving Dinner held in her honor.
Officers and members of Pinay Ikaw Na! (PIN) attended the event, joined by representatives from the Philippine Embassy, including Labor Attaché, Dr. Orville A. Ballitoc, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Welfare Officer, Ms. Juvilyn Anns Gumabay and Ms. Celia V. Cabadonga, Supervising Administrative Officer of the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) Bahrain.
Moreover, the event gained additional importance due to the attendance of Mr. Yusuf Lori, the Director of Information and Follow-Up at the Capital Governorate of Bahrain.
Meanwhile, Victoria Dumrique, a 68-year-old Filipina from Dingras Ilocos Norte, has been living and working in Bahrain for the past 39 years. Her long and dedicated service abroad includes 10 years at Salmaniya Hospital and 29 years—and counting—as a butler for the prominent Kanoo family. Dumrique reflected on her journey as an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) and shared her deep appreciation for Philippine Ambassador Anne Jalando-on Louis.

“As a PIN officer, I saw how she supported our cause for our kababayans,” Dumrique said. “She consistently backed our trainings and initiatives aimed at empowering fellow Filipinos.”
Ambassador Louis first arrived in Manama on April 2022, assuming the role of Chargée d’Affaires ad interim at the Philippine Embassy. She was officially appointed as Ambassador and formally assumed her ambassadorial duties on January, 2023.
During her tenure, Ambassador Louis was known for her strong engagement with the Filipino community in Bahrain and her commitment to advancing the health and welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Ambassador Louis has served in Bahrain with distinction, fostering stronger diplomatic ties between the Philippines and the Kingdom.
Pinay Ikaw Na (PIN) is a Bahrain-based community organization dedicated to empowering Filipino women, especially Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
