Want to volunteer this New Year’s Eve? Dubai Police are looking for helpers

Dubai’s year-end festivities will again draw on public participation, with Dubai Police opening volunteer slots across multiple operational areas for New Year’s Eve. The programme has already attracted more than 1,100 registrants, reflecting early demand for roles that support crowd safety, coordination, and on-ground engagement during the celebrations.

The volunteer drive is structured around seven distinct streams designed to match different abilities and interests. Assignments range from bicycle patrols and mounted-unit support to guest assistance, photography, and remote administrative work. A dedicated team will also be deployed in Hatta, where celebrations form part of the wider city programme.

Roles available include bicycle teams tasked with moving through celebration zones, cavalry teams working alongside mounted officers, and “positive spirit” volunteers focused on public interaction. Additional placements cover general crowd assistance, event documentation through photography, and off-site logistical support for those unable to be physically present.

According to Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, who heads the General Department of Community Happiness, the initiative supports national objectives linked to social participation and quality of life. He said Dubai Police facilitate hundreds of volunteering opportunities each year, offering structured environments where participants can develop skills while contributing to public service.

Applications for the New Year’s Eve roles close on Sunday, 28 December 2025. Approved volunteers are scheduled to report for duty at designated locations on Wednesday, 31 December 2025, starting at 5:00 pm, with registration handled through the Dubai Police Volunteering Portal.
