Filipino vocalists across the UAE are stepping into the spotlight as the Sofronio Sound Alike Contest kicks off, giving amateur singers a rare chance to perform live with The Voice USA winner Sofronio Vasquez III.
Organized by Luxurist CBM House Events in collaboration with various Filipino communities in the UAE, the competition spans five emirates, with live auditions scheduled in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah. One finalist from each location will advance to the grand finale set on August 23, 2025, at Barko Grill in Dubai.
The contest is open to Filipino residents aged 18 to 50. Participants will perform heartfelt ballads and powerful anthems reminiscent of Sofronio’s signature style. The ultimate winner will be crowned Sofronio Sound Alike 2025, take home AED 3,000, and share a duet with Sofronio himself during his concert on September 6, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
To join, aspiring contestants must first purchase a concert ticket to Sofronio Live in Dubai. Upon confirmation, audition registration details will be provided.
“This contest is a celebration of Filipino talent and spirit in the UAE,” said the event organizer. “We are thrilled to give singers the chance not just to perform, but to share the stage with one of the most inspiring voices of our generation.”
