The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) reminded overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) that they now have two simple options to apply for or renew their membership—either by visiting the nearest OWWA Regional Office or through the official OWWA Mobile App.
For October, the membership fee is set at ₱1,431.25, covering access to various benefits such as welfare programs, medical and financial assistance, educational support, and reintegration services for OFWs and their families.
Walk-in application can be done by bringing the required documents to the OWWA Regional Office, filling out the OFW Information Sheet, and paying the membership fee upon approval. Next-of-kin representatives may also process the membership on behalf of the OFW, provided they present a valid ID, an authorization letter signed by the OFW, and the necessary documents.
Meanwhile, those who prefer a more convenient option can use the OWWA Mobile App, available on Google Play and the App Store. Applicants need to complete the online form, upload scanned copies of their valid Philippine passport, residence or work permit, and proof of employment such as a contract or payslip. Payment of the membership fee is done directly through the app, with the official e-receipt sent via email.
According to OWWA, these processes ensure that OFWs and their families remain covered by the agency’s protection and services, whether they are abroad or preparing for reintegration back home.
