“Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” Big Winner Fyang Smith is facing a wave of criticism online after a snippet of her interview circulated on social media, showing her boldly claiming that no batch can top theirs in the reality show’s history.
The remark, delivered during a guest appearance on “Circle of Stars,” drew strong reactions from viewers who perceived her statement as boastful, especially in light of the recently concluded “PBB Celebrity Collab Edition”—a groundbreaking joint project between ABS-CBN and GMA-7.
In the viral clip, Fyang was heard saying: “Alam mo, kahit ilang batch pa ’yan, walang makakatalo sa batch namin. Hello? Gen 11? Breaking… Highest… Hello?”
But in a fuller version of the interview, Fyang quickly followed up with a clarification that her tone was light-hearted: “Hindi, joke lang! Kaya walang makakatalo sa batch namin kasi lahat kami very genuine, very authentic. Akala nga namin walang nanonood, kaya lahat kami ganu’n mga ugali namin.”
Her camp has since claimed the viral video was “spliced” and stripped of context, stressing that the full statement was meant in jest.
The issue escalated when a screenshot of a comment—allegedly from Kapuso comedienne Pokwang’s verified account—started circulating. The comment read: “My God iha 21 years na ako sa showbiz at ang sekreto BE HUMBLE iha yan muna ang pag aralan… wag muna mag yabang bad yan.”
As of now, both Fyang and Pokwang have yet to release official statements.
