Vice President Sara Duterte called on Filipinos to reflect on the courage of World War II veterans this Araw ng Kagitingan, urging the nation to find inspiration from the bravery of those who fought in the Battle of Bataan.
In a message commemorating the Day of Valor, Duterte highlighted how the heroism of Filipino soldiers remains relevant, especially as the country faces modern-day struggles. She emphasized that the sacrifices made in Bataan are a reminder of the strength and resilience that define the Filipino spirit.
“From the ashes of suffering, our people won hope in Bataan — the kind of hope that should push us forward despite the odds,” Duterte said.
She encouraged Filipinos to honor the fallen heroes by building a nation that will never again experience the horrors they endured, stressing the importance of unity, love for country, and faith in God.
“Everything we do is for God, for our nation, and for every Filipino family,” she concluded.
